Snake Bites Man's Penis

Taiwanese Beauty Rat Snake

Mr. Lin, 50, of Nantou County, Taiwan was bitten by a snake - on the penis - while using the toilet at home.
“I felt an excruciating pain in my lower body, like someone had stabbed me with a knife, shortly after sitting on the toilet bowl … I stood up immediately and saw blood oozing from my crotch,” the 50-year-old man, surnamed Lin (林), told reporters.

When he looked down into the toilet he found a large snake staring back at him from inside the toilet bowl. Apparently, the snake thought it had found a tasty morsel dangling, when Mr. Lin sat on the toilet seat, and decided to take a bite.
“I thought it might have been a poisonous snake. To prevent it from hurting anyone else I tried to flush the toilet several times but the snake would not go down the drain,” Lin said.

Failing to flush the snake down the toilet, Mr Lin shut the lid and went to the Puli Christian Hospital for treatment. When he arrived at the hospital, the doctors tried to determine what kind of snake had taken a bite of the man's penis, so that the correct antivenin could be administered. Mr. Lin was unable to identify the type of snake.

The hospital then asked Mr. Lin's neighbors to catch the snake. It turns out that the snake was a black and yellow, 170 cm (67 inches) long, Taiwan Beauty Rat Snake [Orthriophis taeniura friesi]. Fortunately, it was not poisonous or Mr. Lin would have been very lucky to be alive according to the doctors.
"As soon as he has passed the risk of infection, he can go," the doctor, who declined to be named, said. "A snake's mouth isn't always clean."

After being identified, the snake was released back into the wild.
Taiwan beauties are large non-venomous snakes that can reach up to 2m (6.5 ft) in length. The snake is a protected species, and are sometimes kept as pets by people.

Mr. Lin now has a phobia of toilets and will only use a newly purchased plastic toilet bowl.

No one is sure exactly how the snake found its way into the toilet, but the neighbors speculate that it might have entered the plumbing system through the septic tank, which has a cracked lid, and then swum up the toilet for air.

Mr. Lin seemed quite philosophical about the entire episode and offered this incite:
“It was the snake’s signal for help when it bit me. If it hadn’t, maybe it would have been stuck in the septic tank and either suffocated or starved to death. It looked like an accident but it was actually fate,” Lin said.

Kory McFarren gets Probation and Jail

Kory McFarren, 37, became famous when he called the police for help in removing his 35-year-old girlfriend, Pam Babcock, from their toilet seat. She had spent the past two years in the bathroom and had become so firmly attached to the toilet seat that she had to be taken to the hospital with the seat stuck to her buttocks. See the entire story here.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUnlwhK3d1Q&eurl=http://shadmia.com/2008/03/21/kory-mcfarren-charged-in-toilet-case/]

Kory McFarren of Ness City, Kansas was eventually charged with the mistreatment of a dependent adult. Kory pleaded no contest to the charge and was found guilty by the Ness County district magistrate. He was sentenced to six months in jail but after a plea for leniency by his girlfriend, Pam Babcock, the judge granted him six months probation instead.

According to Ness County Attorney Craig Crosswhite Pam Babcock petitioned the judge on behalf of her boyfriend because "She didn't believe that her circumstances were his fault." She is now under the protection of a guardian who was appointed through the legal department at the hospital where she received treatment.

However, Kory McFarren does get jail time for another unrelated incident. Shortly after the incident with his girlfriend and the toilet seat, Kory was arrested on charges of lewd and lascivious behavior.

Kory McFarren was arrested after allegedly exposing himself to a minor. He spent the night in jail before being bonded out, said Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple. It was a neighbor who filed the complaint after calling the police, saying that McFarren exposed himself to her teenage daughter and some friends.
"This has been going on for a long period of time," the neighbor said. "While we were using our pool or hot tub, he would stand in his window and watch and play with himself. It has become much worse lately."

According to the woman, this was not the first time that she had called the police. Her family even had built up a pile of firewood to obstruct McFarren's view of the pool area. However, this time when the police showed up, they caught McFarren exposing himself. He was arrested but made bail and returned home the next day.

The neighbor was frustrated when she saw that McFarren had been released so quickly."I have a daughter who is home after school," she said. "We don't know what is going to happen." She said her children long have had after-school instructions to come inside, lock the doors and call the police if McFarren comes on their property.

In this matter, which was heard at the same time as the "Toilet Case", the judge did give Kory McFarren jail time. He was sentenced to six months.

JetBlue Sued Over Toilet Seat

Gokhan Mutlu, of Manhattan is suing the airline JetBlue for $2 million. He claims the pilot forced him to give up his seat and sit on the toilet seat in the bathroom for over three hours while on a flight from California to New York.

[youtube=http://youtube.com/watch?v=f6vzcPYy9cI&feature=related]

On Feb. 23 2008 Gokhan Mutlu was returning from San Diego to New York on a "buddy pass" ticket. This is a free voucher that JetBlue employees give to friends and family who are willing to fly on a stand-b y basis. Initially, Mutlu was told a flight attendant had taken the last available seat on the plane, but she had agreed to sit in the "jump seat" which is a seat reserved for JetBlue employees only. This meant that Mutlu could catch the flight and use the seat the flight attendant had given up.

About 90 mins into the 5 hour flight the pilot approached Mutlu and told him that the attendant was uncomfortable in the "jump seat" and he would have to relinquish his seat to her. He also told Mutlu that he could not use the "jump seat" because it was only for JetBlue employees. The pilot suggested that Mutlu "go hang out" in the bathroom.

When Mutlu objected to having to sit in the bathroom the pilot said:
"He was the pilot, that this was his plane, under his command that (Mutlu) should be grateful for being on board,"

When the aircraft hit turbulence passengers were directed to return to their seats and Gokhan Mutlu had no choice but to sit on the toilet seat, with no seat belts to use. It was hours later when a male attendant knocked on the toilet door and informed Mutlu that he could return to his original seat.

Mutlu's lawsuit, filed in Manhattan's State Supreme Court, says JetBlue negligently endangered him by not providing him with a seat with a safety belt or harness, in violation of federal law.

P.S.

I would like to know if anyone tried to use the bathroom during the three hours Gokhan Mutlu was in there!!
